My photographic practice and research is situated within the broad context of landscape representation and involves an ongoing preoccupation with the meta-language of film and its distancing affect from observed reality. Recent research initiatives have situated walking as a significant factor in the creation of photographic narrative. This has involved a critical dialogue with the landscapes through research and practice. My research questions the role of documentary modes and perspectival approaches used in the depiction and representation of place in order to present a more embodied experience through photography.
Outputs include several site-specific billboards, gallery exhibitions and published works within an editorial and fine art context. I am currently represented by Millennium Images, Arcangel Images and IRIS artistic platform and lecture in photography at York St John University.
